  2. Hi Faye! Let me run these comments by you and your readers....

!. Why would PR continue to recycle the winners of previous seasons who morph their winning ideas into slightly different views of repeat designs to win another show. I am all for seeing the same contestants, but not the winners of previous seasons.

    2. What did Dimitry do with the winnings from the season he won? Could he not have parlayed his previous winnings into something more tangible than a second appearance on Project Runway?

    3. I prefer the type of critique given by Zac Posen (during his seasons as a judge) which lends itself to finishing the inside and hems of garments. I don't see Zanna being authentic or honest with the designers, and she never seemed to give substantial comments on how to make their garments winners. (She HATED Sonjia's coat fabric, yet it was the judges favorite garment the night of the show!)

    5. Why would PR limit the final fashion show to eight garments using $3,000 made in four days? In previous years the designers were allowed seven months for twelve garments and were given $7,000. I know there is no need to have months, but wouldn't the quality of the garments improve if the designers were given enough time to THINK about what they are creating and how to improve their current ideas? How about a week or two weeks? I am positive the yellow skirt would have a longer lining if Sonjia had the time to stare at it for more than a minute.

I can't wait to see next week's reunion. Some of the contestants will undoubtedly be upset by the comments made by their co-workers (like Michelle) in the secret confession room. Michelle was particularly mean when she was doing her critiques and more than certain she would be the winner of each challenge.

Thanks for your post....I just HAD to get this off my chest! hahaha

    1. My sentiments exactly Graytone. I don't think it's fair at all to bring previous winners back! And they act so desperate (speaking in particular about Dimitry and Seth Aaron. Seth acted so Broke in some of his comments. They should have used their money more wisely when they one. And about Michelle - she never had ANYTHING positive to say about the work of others. So critical yet never won a challenge. One thing I had to give to her though - she is an expert when it comes to describing her garments, real flowery. She would make a great sales person. 4 days for 8 garments was extremely challenging even with helpers.

I needed to get this off my chest as well. All in all I love the show(s) it affords me some wonderful entertainment for weeks and weeks. I certainly hope that Under the Gunn is on for a second season sometime soon.

      Thanks for your comment!

    2. I agree. No previous winners, make a show just for them! I was realy hopeing for a Sonja win. I liked Helen, but she didnt do well for the finale. Michelle was just a mean girl.

  3. One hour to spend $3,000 in Mood? I can't imagine!
Maybe they should have a round of PRAS where all the winners come back so that winners compete against winners?
I wish the designer of the yellow flounce skirt had won!!! I liked that collection the best!!

Have you seen the documentary about Jay McCarroll (season 1 winner) called "Eleven Minutes". The $100k prize money (or however much he got in his season) really doesn't go far.

    1. My Mom thought they should have been given more money so they could have purchased higher quality fabrics, and they certainly should have been given more time for construction.

That's a good idea Kyle, a winners show so they could get them out of the way. That would create an entirely new PR series. I guess $100K (or whatever) doesn't stretch as far as one would think with the high cost of EVERYTHING. I just think they shouldn't come back to compete against the non-winners.

  4. Great review Faye! I think the judges did a great job in narrowing it down to two contestants. However, I feel it was unfair for winners to be included with contestants who have not won a season. With that said, I do believe that Dimitri's final looks were the winning looks, especially considering he did that in four days! I also feel that Sonji's looks were equally as nice, with the exception of the yellow skirt! I think that was the saddest piece in her collection. But oh well, she only had four days! Either way, it was a great show and like you said, very entertaining over the course of a few weeks. I look forward to the next project runway shows!

    1. When Dimitri won during his first season the beauty of his final collection almost brought tears to my eye; really, it was a very emotional runway moment for me - so I never forgot him. I can't take anything away from his design ability just thought he nor Michelle should have been there in the first place. I loved Sonji's collect too - the jumpsuit and gown were gorgeous, even that coat, but the skirt was a disaster.

    1. Of course that counts Helen! You sew a whole lot more than I did - that's for sure.

  6. I agree previous winners shouldn't be on the All Stars! Disappointed that he won with all those Dynasty looking outfits. I saw him on QVC and the outfits looked quite tone down.

    1. I really like Dimitri (except all the stress of the season had him a little scratchy attitude this season). He was much nicer and calmer during his first season. Although I was not as in love with his collection on AllStars as I was with those of his first winning season, I still think he is an excellent designer even though this one didn't turn me on as much.

  7. My daughter & I watch every week. We both wanted Sonjia to win! I loved the colors she used for her collection.

I agree with what others have said - 4 days & $3 K is ludicrous! Then the judges have the nerve to say something like " your garments don't look finished!"

Zanna is not a good mentor either.

    1. Zanna almost got it when she showed up in that work room several times so she was probably a little scared! It is so hard to know what the judges will like.

P.S. Has that lady given birth to those twins/triplets yet?

    2. Yes, Faye.....
She had the baby. She was HUGE....but it was a single birth...a little girl.

    3. OMgoodness, poor thing got soooo big that I was sure it was twins she was carrying at least.

  8. I really wish she had won. I thought her collection was much more creative and fun than Dmitri's--especially that jacket of his that got the highest praise was almost exactly the same as another one he made this season!

  9. I must say, I have NO IDEA about anything Project Runway related anymore, and for that, I'm glad! There is such a huge difference between a TV show and the real world!

  10. I call it "Sewing Entertainment", meaning I've never learned anything about sewing from it. It's just for my entertainment and I do get quite a few laughs from it.

  11. I liked Sonjia's collection the best. I loved her use of color and how she mixed the fabrics. Dmitri has impeccable workmanship and he is a very talented designer but his collection looked too Dynasty for me…
