TRULY, IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT...

...Is anyone else out there starting to have thoughts of brilliantly colored falling leaves,

crisp cool morning temperatures and most importantly of all - pattern selections for fall sewing?  I know that I am!  Truly, it was love at first sight when I first laid eyes on this flirty new McCall's offering.
I have GOT TO HAVE this same aztec print in pontederoma.  I know it exists.  All I've got to do is  find out where to order it from.  Soooo, if you've seen it, please comment to point me to it.  Love this colorway and print.   However, I am also visualizing this  as the perfect LBD.  Thank you McCall's Pattern Company and your designers for coming up with this cute little number.  This WILL BE
one of my main dresses this fall.

And yes, this selection will also be mine

'
You'd better bet it will!  This in Black would make quite a statement, although this Marsala is speaking quite loudly to me.  Please point me to a (not to light, nor too heavy) weight sweater knit.  Oh, oh this would also be gorgeous in Gray.

And isn't this the cutest little vest you've ever seen?
Oh yes it is.  What about in Mustard, or Chocolate, or Pantone's fall namesake Oak Buff to make this the perfect little Fall accent piece.  I think it would look quite classy layered over a mock turtleneck sweater worn with skinny legged jeans and riding boots - oh yes it will.

And this crossover beauty made up in just the right jewel toned knit would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe - But made in black would be just as perfect.

These four pieces look super easy to make, would pair up just fine with existing pieces in my closet and give me a great jump start on Fall/Winter sewing.  What interesting plans do you have for your Early Fall Sewing...

TODAY'S POST BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE BIG OLD CAPITAL LETTER...

...

This symbol has become as highly recognizable as this one

has almost become a regular old household name.  Although I don't spend quite as much time stuck in Pinterestland as I use to, I recently came up with the idea of using it to catalog my pattern stash collection.  I've tried using different data bases and spreadsheets to do this, but I either don't keep up with them and loose interest; or they just haven't proved effective enough methods to help me categorize.  For the most part I just ended up with a bunch of pattern numbers on a sheet.

I like color, and I like pictures, so creating boards in Pinterest to help me keep my inventory list in usable order was an excellent idea for me.  I'm sure someone else has already thought of this, after all there are NO ORIGINAL ideas or so it seems.  But just in case - I thought I'd share.  It'll probably be done by Christmas (hahaha).
In addition, there is sewing related activity going on for me.  I'm currently working on a muslin for this pattern
I haven't made pants since last summer. Now I find myself in need of several colors and am sort of wanting to venture out of my TNT pants pattern comfort zone.  I want something simple in a skinny leg pant that, of course, fits well - so I chose this pattern for my next quest.  A long time ago my friend Paco advised that Burda and Simplicity patterns were best for fit.  I'm not really a Burda pattern fan but if this one works - I won't mind nominating it as my new TNT.  We'll see...

SLOW PACED SEWING...

...sometimes only a little hand hemming will do.  It yields much better results on some fabrics.  I made this slow paced hand stitching job much more enjoyable with a big old cup of Cafe Kahlu'a Brulee.

My own invention - not too bad at all!!!
